Now, the correct thinking should be "How to lose body fat?" Believe it or not, the bathroom scale is the least accurate tool to determine a person's fitness level. Determining the lean body mass and body fat percentage are more accurate.
Research shows that the more lean muscle you have, the more fat you can burn. So in order to lose the body blubber, you have to work hard to build lean mass. A lot of people might believe that increasing the number of repetitions for crunches and sit ups can help in burning belly fat because it is first thing that they want to git rid of. Some guys may also want to isolate their Biceps or Chest with the general idea that by doing this, they can develop a gorgeous body which is a wrong approach. In order to Build lean muscles, the body must undergo challenging weight training which involves compound movements. When the body is exposed to multi joint exercises, the human anatomy responds by releasing hormones to cope with the stress, and at the same time forces your body to grow, and when paired with adequate rest making it ready for the next workout. To say, Complex exercises are far more better than Isolation sets in building muscle.
Cardiovascular exercise is another topic wherein people can commit mistakes when trying to drop some weight/body fat. Doing long slow steady cardio on a treadmill, stationary bike, stair master, etc. has more negative effects than benefits. The body when exposed to longer period of stress react by burning your hard earned muscles instead of the stored body fat. To prevent this from happening, you may want to shorten the period you spend on the treadmill and increasing the intensity of the exercise. Thus burning more fat and decreasing the chances of your muscles from going to waste. In conclusion, Both muscle Building and Fat Burning can be most effective when done in less Quantity(time) and more Quality(intensity).
